How to Play Story of PlayFame

The first thing you'll notice when you play this slot is that it operates with two separate reel sets side-by-side, each featuring a standard 5x4 grid. Both sets offer 100 winning lines—50 on the left and 50 on the right—giving you a massive 100 ways to form symbol combinations on every spin. To start, simply choose the value you wish to play and hit the spin button. The game features a mix of high-value symbols, like characters and relics, and lower-value card symbols. The Wild symbol is key, as it can substitute for all regular symbols to help complete those winning lines.

Gameplay and Bonuses

The Story of PlayFame has several features that make for exciting play. The main attraction is the Free Spins game, which you trigger by landing three or more Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. Before the free spins begin, a wheel spins to determine how many free spins you'll receive—it can be anywhere from 10 to 40. During the free spins, the Wilds get a significant upgrade. They turn into Stacked Wilds that cover the entire reel, and they become a Moving Wild. When a stacked wild lands on one of the reel sets, it will shift one reel to the left with each subsequent spin until it moves off the grid. Landing a Stacked Wild on both grids at the same time can lead to some truly impressive combinations. If you don't want to wait for the Scatters to land, the game also includes a way to play the feature directly for an upfront value.

Our Verdict

The dual 5x4 reel setup is a brilliant move by Spinomenal; it doubles the potential action on every turn and makes the standard gameplay feel more dynamic. The base game is engaging, but the Stacked and Moving Wilds during the Free Spins round are definitely the stars of the show and offer the highest potential for big winning combinations. Some players have commented that the high number of winning lines can make the gameplay a bit complex initially, but it’s worth sticking with as the action heats up. While the medium-high volatility means you may experience some dry spells, the payoff potential in the free spins is fantastic. This is a well-designed, thrilling adventure that any enthusiast of mythical-themed slots should try.
