3 Oaks Gaming transports us back to the time of pharaohs and pyramids in Scarab Temple, a visually rich slot that follows the incredibly popular Egyptian theme.

This title is best known for its use of the always popular Hold and Win feature, which drives the main action and offers players a chance at collecting four fixed jackpots.

As is common for titles from 3 Oaks, the game offers a solid mix of classic slot design elements combined with modern bonus mechanics to keep the energy flowing.

How to Play Scarab Temple

Scarab Temple is set on a traditional 5×3 reel configuration and utilizes 25 fixed winning lines. Winning combinations are collected by matching three or more identical symbols starting from the leftmost reel.

The symbols feature classic Egyptian iconography, including the Eye of Horus and various gods.

Key symbols to watch out for are the Scarab Bonus Symbols, which are coins marked with prize values, and the Pyramid Scatter, which is your key to the Free Spins round.

The Wild symbol (Bastet) helps complete regular winning lines by substituting for other symbols.

Game Features

The game is dominated by two core features. First is the Bonus Game—a classic Hold and Win round triggered by landing six or more Scarab Bonus Symbols.

These triggering Scarabs stick to the screen, and you receive three initial respins to try and land more sticky Scarabs.

Every new Scarab that lands resets the respin count back to three.

This is where you can land one of the three fixed jackpots: the Mini or Major prizes appear directly as symbols, while the highest Grand Jackpot prize is awarded if you manage to fill all 15 positions with sticky Scarab symbols.

The second key feature is the Free Spins round, which is triggered by landing three Pyramid Scatter symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5.

This awards you eight Free Spins, and during this bonus, low-value symbols are removed from the reels, increasing your potential for higher-value wins.

Our Verdict

Scarab Temple is a great medium-to-high volatility option that delivers exactly what fans of Egyptian slots expect, but with the added excitement of the Hold and Win jackpot feature.

The Free Spins round is solid because removing the low-value symbols really boosts the quality of those sequences, but the main chase is clearly the sticky Scarabs leading to the jackpots.

The art is detailed and polished, which makes for a pleasant visual experience.

If you enjoy games that blend classic adventure themes with high-intensity respin bonuses, we think you’ll find a lot to love in this temple.
