Hot Potato provides a solid RTP of 96.16 percent and operates with high volatility. This means the game is built for those who appreciate a more intense session where the focus is on hitting substantial combinations. The action takes place on a large 7x7 grid and uses a cluster wins system instead of traditional win-lines. For players who are fans of large grids and colorful symbols, Candy Luck is another excellent title worth exploring here at PlayFame.

How to Play Hot Potato

Jumping into this culinary adventure is straightforward despite the large 7x7 grid. To land a win, you need to connect five or more identical symbols in a cluster. These symbols must be touching either vertically or horizontally to count. The grid is packed with fast food favorites like donuts, pickles, tacos, and burgers.

The game also uses an avalanche system where winning clusters explode and disappear from the board. New symbols then drop down from the top to fill the empty spaces, which can lead to a chain reaction of multiple wins from a single turn. The Hot Potato symbol itself acts as a Wild and can substitute for other food items to help you build those clusters. If you like games that feature high quality art and a professional layout, you should definitely check out Super China Pots on the platform.

Gameplay and Bonuses

The true energy of Hot Potato is found in the Multiplier Grid and the Free Spins round. Every time a winning cluster is removed from the board, it leaves behind a highlighted area. If another win occurs in that same spot, a multiplier is added to that cell. These multipliers start at x2 and can double each time a new win happens in that space, potentially reaching up to x128. If the Hot Potato Wild lands in one of these cells, it activates the multiplier for any win it is part of.

The Free Spins feature is triggered by landing three Scatter symbols during a single sequence of avalanches. You are awarded 10 free spins to start the round. The best part of this bonus is that the highlighted multiplier cells do not reset between spins. This allows you to build up massive multipliers across the entire 7x7 grid over the course of the bonus.

For those who want to jump straight to the kitchen action, you can use the play the feature option to access the free spins round immediately. This combination of doubling multipliers and a persistent grid in the bonus round ensures that the gameplay feels rewarding and exciting.

Our Verdict

Hot Potato is a very polished and high quality title that I found to be a lot of fun to play. I personally liked the way the multipliers can explode and grow across the board because it makes every avalanche feel important. The graphics are sharp and the jazzy soundtrack really fits the fast food theme perfectly. While the high volatility might result in some quiet spells, the potential for a chain reaction win is always there.

I believe the x10,000 top prize is a great goal for anyone who enjoys high risk games. Thunderkick has done a professional job of making a food themed game feel modern and unique. It is a solid choice for anyone looking for a grid based game with a bit of humor. If you are ready for some fast paced fun with growing multipliers, this kitchen is definitely the place to be.
