How to Play Dr Frankenstein

Setting up your experiment in the doctor's lab is simple enough for any newcomer. The game uses a 6-reel, 4-row layout and offers 50 fixed win-lines. To grab a win, you need to match symbols from left to right along these paths. The symbols feature the doctor, his assistant Igor, various colored monsters, and glowing flasks.

To get started, just adjust your play amount at the bottom of the screen. Igor pops up often at the start of a spin to toss random wilds onto the reels, helping you finish winning combinations. The game also features a multiplier that can trigger after any spin, boosting your total win for that round. If you like this style of random base-game modifiers, you might also want to check out Lockdown Loot, which also keeps the action moving with frequent special features.

Gameplay and Bonuses

The real electricity in this slot comes from the Free Games bonus. You trigger this by landing five or more matching Frankenstein symbols starting from the first reel. This is a bit different from standard scatter triggers, as the color of the monster matters. If you trigger the round with the red monster symbols, they transform into locked wilds that stay in place for the entire duration of your free spins.

During the bonus round, the random multipliers can still appear, which is the secret to reaching the x5,400 max win. You can also retrigger the feature by landing more monster symbols. If you are feeling impatient, you can use the play the feature option to jump straight into the bonus round for a set amount. For players who love intense bonus rounds with sticky symbols, Viking Crusade is another great one to explore. The combination of locked wilds and random multipliers makes Dr Frankenstein a very dynamic experience.

Our Verdict

Dr Frankenstein is a solid pick for anyone who loves a bit of spooky science. I found the random wild feature with Igor to be a great way to keep the base game from getting stale, as he seems to show up quite often. The graphics and sound effects are top-notch, really capturing that old-school horror movie vibe.

On Reddit, some players have commented that the machine can feel like a money eater during dry spells because of the medium volatility, but they also note that when the multipliers and wilds hit at the same time, the wins are massive. I agree that the game really shines during the free spins when those locked wilds start to pile up. It is a very well-rounded slot that offers a lot of personality and some very unique ways to trigger its biggest prizes. If you want a game that feels alive, this is the one to play.
