How to Play

Charge the Clovers operates on a compact 3-reel, 3-row grid. Unlike many traditional slots, the goal here is not necessarily to complete winning lines in the base game, but rather to trigger the main event, the Hold and Win feature found in a number of Playson titles like Diamonds Power to name but one. You will mostly see familiar fruit symbols, golden clovers, and unique blue tornado-themed icons. The primary way to enter the electric Hold and Win-style Bonus Game is by landing any three symbols on the central middle row, or sometimes via sticky icons that hold their position until the feature is activated. This non-traditional setup makes every play feel focused on building toward that powerful bonus round.

Game Features

The fun truly begins when you trigger the Bonus Game, which locks the reels for a series of respins, resetting the count to three whenever a new prize symbol lands. This round is absolutely overflowing with special icons designed to multiply your winnings. Look out for the Charge and Super Charge symbols, which randomly land on a special top row; these can increase the value of the Bonus symbols on the reels below them by up to 5x. Similarly, Multi and Super Multi symbols increase the multiplier applied to specific cells, boosting potential rewards. If that’s not enough, there are Boost symbols that collect the value of all visible clovers and jackpots, and Mystery symbols that reveal extra prizes or even one of the four fixed jackpots at the end of the round.

Our Verdict

We think Charge the Clovers is a great addition to Playson’s lineup, especially if you enjoy games that focus almost entirely on the action within a primary bonus round. The base game is straightforward, which might feel slow for some players, but the excitement rapidly increases once the Bonus Game hits and all those boosting symbols come into play. The fixed Grand Jackpot of x500 of the play value is reasonable, and the complexity of the collecting and multiplying features offers plenty of opportunities for exciting wins. If you appreciate classic aesthetics combined with modern, feature-rich mechanics, we definitely recommend giving this high-voltage slot a play.
