Gameplay and Feature Rounds

The absolute highlight of Buffalo Freedom DoubleMax is the innovative DoubleMax multiplier trail, which creates massive potential on consecutive winning plays. Players can explore various themes on PlayFame, but the thrill of doubling multipliers with every cascade keeps this release exceptionally engaging.

First, the game utilizes a cascading mechanic known as Dropdown Wins. Whenever you complete a winning combination, those winning symbols are removed from the screen, and a Wild symbol is spawned in one of the empty spaces. The remaining positions are then filled by symbols dropping from above, offering a chance for consecutive wins.

Crucially, each consecutive dropdown win doubles your active multiplier on the trail on the left side of the screen. Starting at x1, consecutive wins will push your multiplier to x2, x4, x8, x16, x32, and beyond, with no upper limit on how high it can go. In the base game, this multiplier resets to x1 once a dropdown sequence ends without a win.

Landing three, four, or five diamond Scatter symbols will trigger the Free Spins game, rewarding you with 7, 9, or 11 free spins. During this round, the multiplier trail becomes even more powerful, as the DoubleMax multiplier does not reset between spins. It either holds its value or continues to double on consecutive dropdowns throughout the entire feature, allowing the multiplier to scale to gargantuan heights.

To optimize your play, the slot features a Golden Bet option. Activating this increases your spin cost by 20% but doubles your chances of triggering the Free Spins game naturally. Alternatively, you can use the option to play the feature directly, immediately triggering the Free Spins round on your next spin for a multiplier of your spin value.

Our Verdict

This title is a fantastic addition to Yggdrasil's portfolio, taking their beloved DoubleMax mechanic and wrapping it in one of the most popular themes in slot history. While the theme is classic, the cascading dropdowns and spawned Wilds keep the gameplay modern and fast-paced. The real magic happens during the Free Spins game, where the non-resetting multiplier trail can lead to staggering rewards up to the x25,000 maximum. With a robust 96.00% RTP and highly volatile structure, this represents a top-tier choice for players looking for high-octane action on our platform.
