Gameplay and Bonuses

The core of Boom Farm's action revolves around its unique box system and explosive helper symbols. At the start of every spin, the background of the grid receives a new layout of hidden boxes. These boxes come in three varieties: Wooden, Silver, and Golden. Each box contains an instant cash prize or a special feature reward. To crack open a box and claim its contents, you must land winning symbols or explosive symbols on its specific grid position to break it open. A Wooden box requires one hit to open, a Silver box requires two hits, and a Golden box requires three hits.

To help you smash these crates open, the farm is equipped with two explosive tools:

TNT Barrels: Landing a TNT barrel deals a single hit to every single box present on the grid, accelerating your progress across the board.
Star Bombs: The most powerful tool, a Star Bomb instantly clears all boxes on the grid in one massive explosion, immediately awarding all of the cash prizes contained within them.

Landing four or more Scatter symbols triggers the Free Spins mode, awarding between 7 and 12 spins. Unlike the base game, where box progress resets on every spin, during the Free Spins round, all boxes and their hit progress persist between spins. This makes it far easier to unlock the high-rewarding Golden boxes, which can award rewards up to 5,000x your play value. Unlocking all of the boxes on the grid during a single session awards an extra spin.

Additionally, players can choose to play the feature directly using the feature selectors displayed on the screen, offering standard free spins or boosted free spins where only Silver and Golden boxes can land. Players can also activate the Golden Bet feature, which increases the chance of triggering free spins organically. Whether you enjoy spinning in the morning or playing around 6-7pm (PT), this high-volatility farmyard is packed with action.

Our Verdict

Boom Farm is an exceptionally charming and highly animated slot that showcases the quirky artistic vision Peter & Sons is famous for. Merging a scatter rewards grid with cascading wins and a persistent collection-based box system makes every cascade sequence incredibly exciting. The visual presentation is stellar, complete with funny animations of a bearded farmer and detailed livestock that respond to the explosions on screen. While the volatility is high, the engaging mechanics and the potential for a 5,000x play value win make this a highly recommended addition to PlayFame.
