Note that the Golden Scroll rewards as a scatter on reels 2 to 6, rewarding players up to 100x their play level for five of a kind.

Gameplay and Bonuses

The true highlight of this game is the free spins feature, which is triggered when three or more golden scroll scatters land anywhere across the reels during the same spin. Doing so awards you 12 free spins to play.

Before the free spins round begins, the golden scroll flips open to randomly select a standard symbol from the Wintable. During the extra spins, this selected symbol will act as an expanding symbol. If enough of these symbols land to form a winning combination, they will expand vertically to cover their entire reels. Even better, these expanded symbols do not need to be adjacent to one another to reward you; they will reward across all active winlines as long as you have the minimum number required anywhere on the grid.

To make the round even more exciting, the scroll symbol acting as a Wild during free spins receives a random multiplier value of 2x, 3x, 5x, or 10x. If a multiplier wild contributes to a winning combination, its value multiplies the total win for that spin. If multiple multiplier wilds land on a single spin, their values are added together to create an even more substantial multiplier boost.

If you want to play the feature directly, you can use the optional buy feature selectors displayed on the screen. Additionally, the game has a Chance x2 toggle that slightly increases your play level in exchange for doubling your chances of organically triggering the free spins round. Whether you enjoy playing early in the morning or around 6-7pm (PT), these features offer constant excitement with every spin.

Our Verdict

Book of Panda represents a wonderfully polished entry into the slots catalog, successfully blending two highly popular mechanics. BGaming has done a great job of merging the expansive scope of the Megaways engine with the focused win potential of traditional expanding-symbol book games. The omission of cascading reels is a unique change of pace, putting the full focus on the high-quality spin dynamics. The clean animations, serene soundtrack, and adorable panda protagonist make this game highly engaging. It is an incredibly solid option for slot enthusiasts who enjoy very high volatility and immersive themes.
