Note that the Book symbol also serves as the Wild, which can offer up to 800x your play value for five of a kind when substituting along a winline.

Gameplay and Bonuses

The standard action in this Egyptian search is highly engaging, but the real excitement comes when you activate one of the special features. The first major round is the free games feature. Landing three, four, or five book symbols on the grid awards eight free games, along with an immediate reward of 10x, 50x, or 200x your total spin amount. Before these games commence, a random standard symbol is chosen to become a golden, growing symbol. After the standard wins are evaluated on a free spin, any of these selected gold symbols will expand to cover their entire reels and reward additional wins across all active winlines, even if they are not on adjacent reels.

The second major system centers around the green and gold orbs, which represent prize symbols. Landing six or more green orbs in the base game (or five or more during the free games) triggers the Jackpot Mania round. This works as a hold-and-respin feature where the triggering orbs lock in place, and you receive three respins. The reels will only spin to reveal empty spaces or additional orbs. Every new orb that lands resets your respin counter back to three.

The green orbs carry random multipliers (ranging from 1x up to 100x) or one of three fixed jackpots: Mini (20x), Minor (50x), or Major (200x). If you successfully fill all 15 positions on the grid, you will trigger the Grand Jackpot, which awards 2,000x your play value.

To make things even more interesting, Book of 8 Riches features a collection meter and a pyramid map located above the reels. As you play, any green orbs that land are collected. When the collection meter hits 70, a golden orb is added to your pyramid map. Once you accumulate nine golden orbs and fill the map, you activate the Super Jackpot Mania. This is an enhanced version of the hold-and-respin game where all prize values are significantly increased, offering an excellent opportunity to chase the maximum win of 8,000x your play value.

Our Verdict

Book of 8 Riches is a remarkably polished and entertaining addition to the Egyptian slot genre. RubyPlay has done a great job of combining the beloved expanding symbol free spins mechanic with an intense hold-and-respin system. The inclusion of the collection meter and the pyramid map keeps the base game interesting, as every green orb you find contributes toward triggering the Super Jackpot Mania. The graphics are highly detailed, showcasing shimmering gold frames and beautiful character designs that make the slot feel premium. The medium-high volatility strikes a fine balance, offering consistent excitement. For anyone who enjoys high-quality Egyptian themes and the popular Hold and Win games mechanic, this title is a must-play.
