Gameplay and Bonuses

Cascading Reels and Multiplier Cannon

Every win triggers a cascade. Winning symbols are removed, new ones fall into place, and a Wild is added to the grid. The Multiplier Cannon beneath the reels doubles its value with each consecutive cascade — starting at x1 and climbing rapidly. The cannon does not reset between cascades within the same spin, which is where the largest wins are built.

Free Spins

Landing 3 Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels awards 7 free spins. Each additional Scatter beyond three adds 2 more free spins to the total. The key difference in the free spins round is that the Multiplier Cannon does not reset between spins — it carries over, allowing the multiplier to grow across the entire feature.

Play the Feature

Rather than waiting for Scatters to land, you can play the feature directly. Three options are available:

7 Free Spins – costs 110x your spin value
7–11 Free Spins – costs 220x your spin value
Power Free Spins – costs 330x your spin value, introduces additional special cannonball types and increases overall volatility

An Ante Bet option (1.5x your spin value) is also available, which doubles the frequency of Scatter symbols landing during the base game.

Our Verdict

Barbarossa - Dragon Empire is a well-built sequel that earns its place in the series. The shift to a Chinese coastal setting gives it a fresh look without abandoning the mechanics that made the original work. The Multiplier Cannon is the engine of the game — when cascades chain together and the multiplier climbs, the potential is genuinely impressive. The four cannonball types add variety to each spin without overcomplicating things.

The free spins round, with its persistent multiplier, is where the x40,000 ceiling becomes a realistic target rather than a theoretical number. High volatility means the base game can be quiet for stretches, but the cascade structure keeps individual spins engaging. This is a strong release from Peter & Sons and a natural next step for anyone who enjoyed the original Barbarossa or Barbarossa Revenge.
