Gameplay and Features

A major draw of this slot is the popular hold and win collection mechanic. This feature is activated when you land six or more of the Fire Meteor special symbols anywhere on the reels. When this happens, you are transported to a special screen. The triggering symbols lock in place and you start with three respins. The goal is to land as many additional Fire Meteors as possible. Each new symbol that lands also locks and resets your spin count back to three. This creates a highly engaging loop of action.

As you collect more Fire Meteor symbols, the grid actually expands. The board can grow from its base size up to a massive 5-reel, 8-row grid. Expanding the grid unlocks additional winning positions. The meteor symbols carry various prize multipliers or one of the fixed jackpots. You might uncover a Mini, Minor, or Major jackpot. If you manage to collect 40 special symbols and fill the entire expanded screen, you win the Royal Jackpot of x10,000 your play value.

Landing three Aztec Temple Scatter symbols on the middle reels initiates the Free Spins game. This starts you off with eight free spins. During this round, all low value playing card symbols are completely removed from the grid. Only high value animals and characters appear, giving you a much better chance at forming high rewarding combinations. This streamlined symbol set keeps the action intense. If you prefer to jump straight to the main event, you have the option to play the feature instead rather than waiting for Scatters to land naturally.

Our Verdict

This title is a fantastic take on the ancient civilization genre. The combination of an expanding grid and a highly engaging Free Spins round keeps the gameplay extremely entertaining. The visuals are top notch, and the jungle sound effects set an immersive mood from the very first spin. The addition of the expanding rows during the collection feature provides a great twist on a classic mechanic. It elevates the standard collection format into something fresh.

I appreciate that the team at 3 Oaks Gaming made the goals so clear. Seeing the grid expand as you collect more meteors builds genuine anticipation. The fact that low value symbols are stripped away during the free games makes that round feel very rewarding. This is a highly solid release with a wide range of features. It caters perfectly to players looking for dynamic mechanics and massive potential returns. It is a fantastic option to add to your regular rotation of games.
