Gameplay and Bonuses

The true excitement of this medieval adventure lies within its rich array of special features. During your session, you will want to keep an eye out for the legendary Excalibur sword, which serves as the scatter symbol. Landing three, four, or five of these iconic swords anywhere on the grid will trigger the Free Spins game, awarding you 10, 12, or 15 free spins, respectively.

Before the free spins commence, you get to make a choice that directly impacts your round. The game presents you with the Fateful Wild feature, where you must select one of the three main characters Prince Arthur, Morgana, or Meizulina to act as an additional Wild symbol throughout the entirety of the free spins. This chosen character will substitute for standard symbols just like the regular Celtic Stone Wild, significantly boosting your chances of forming rewarding combinations. It gives you a great sense of control over your own destiny during the round.

The magic does not stop there. The Excalibur feature can randomly activate during the free spins round. When this happens, the legendary sword will strike the grid and add extra Wild symbols to the reels, paving the way for substantial potential returns. Furthermore, every free spin comes with a random multiplier that ranges from x2 up to an impressive x7, applying to any wins you achieve on that specific spin. This layered approach to the special features ensures that the gameplay remains highly dynamic. For players who prefer to jump straight to the main event, there is an option to play the feature directly from the main screen, bypassing the standard base game entirely.

Our Verdict

Avalon: The Lost Kingdom is a wonderfully crafted title that brings the tales of King Arthur to life in a fun and interactive way. The visual design is sharp, with a misty forest background and detailed character art that establishes a fantastic atmosphere. BGaming has managed to pack the game with meaningful mechanics that elevate the overall experience from start to finish.

The main game offers steady action, but the true potential shines during the free spins round. The combination of the Fateful Wild, the random Excalibur extra wilds, and the varying multipliers means that no two free spin rounds feel exactly the same. While the medium volatility keeps the gameplay balanced, the max win of x5,000 your spin value provides a great target for those chasing larger returns. This is a highly solid game overall that will surely appeal to fans of mythical themes and engaging modifiers. The smooth animations and thematic sound effects round out a highly polished release.
