Gameplay and Features

The absolute highlight of this Gamzix release is the Hold The Spin feature. To activate this exciting mode, you must land five golden Coin symbols entirely filling the second reel. When this happens, those triggering Coins lock firmly in place, and the game grants you 3 respins.

Once the feature begins, the regular symbols disappear. Only new golden Coins can land on the first and third reels. Each of these new Coins carries a random prize value ranging from 0.5x to 100x your spin value. Every time a new Coin lands on the outer reels, your respin counter automatically resets back to 3.

Here is where the mechanic gets incredibly interesting compared to standard Hold and Win games. Once new Coins land and award their stated prizes, all symbols on the first and third reels clear out and free up their positions! The triggering Coins on the middle reel remain locked, but the outer reels keep emptying after rewarding you. This means you never run out of space on the grid. The feature only ends when you go three consecutive respins without landing a new Coin.

Thanks to this unique clearing mechanic, you have the opportunity to rack up rewards continuously. It is a brilliant twist on a familiar feature that keeps the excitement incredibly high from start to finish.

Our Verdict

3x5: Hold The Spin is a masterclass in how to modernize a classic fruit slot. Gamzix has successfully combined a nostalgic aesthetic with a genuinely innovative feature. The base game is fast and satisfying, but the real magic happens when you fill that middle reel with golden Coin symbols. The clearing mechanic during the respins is a fantastic addition. It removes the frustration of a grid filling up too quickly and extends the action beautifully.

The high volatility ensures that the gameplay remains thrilling, and the potential to reach a max win of x2,000 your play size gives you a great target to chase. If you love retro games but want a feature that feels fresh and rewarding, this title is an absolute must-play.
